1. Layers Are Key
- Base Layer: Wear moisture-wicking thermal tops and leggings to stay warm and dry.
- Middle Layer: Pack fleece or insulated jackets for warmth.
- Outer Layer: Bring a waterproof and windproof jacket and pants. The Faroe Islands often experience rain and strong winds.
2. Sturdy Footwear
- Invest in waterproof hiking boots with good grip. Many locations involve uneven or wet terrain, so reliable footwear is crucial.

3. Accessories for Protection
- Hat and Gloves: Bring a warm beanie and gloves (preferably waterproof) to protect against wind and cold.
- Scarf or Neck Gaiter: Useful for windy days and added warmth.
- Rain Gear: A compact, foldable rain poncho or an umbrella can be handy for sudden showers.
4. Daypack Essentials
- Include a waterproof cover for your backpack to protect your camera gear and other essentials.
5. General Tips
- Avoid heavy cotton clothing, as it retains moisture and takes a long time to dry.
- Bring casual yet warm clothes for evenings or downtime.
