Our sunrise location is planned at the incredible viewpoints of Val d’Orcia, opening from the hilltop on which the town of Montalcino stands — the birthplace of the finest Tuscan Brunello di Montalcino, the king of red wines made from the native Tuscan grape variety Sangiovese.
After the shoot and a walk through this wonderful town, we will certainly have a tasting of the best Brunello wines at the winemakers' association located in the legendary and ancient Montalcino fortress, La Fortezza. After a midday rest, we will visit the ancient Abbey of Sant’Antimo, founded by Charlemagne himself, explore the main church dating back to the 8th century, and, if we are lucky, hear the morning chants of monks dressed in white robes.
In the afternoon, we will enjoy wine tastings at one or several small Brunello producers. Delicious, informative, and set in a cozy, homelike atmosphere. This will be a day dedicated to Tuscan wine. We will end it with a sunset shoot in the fields near Torrenieri.
