Meeting at Fiumicino Airport. For smooth logistics, please arrive in the first half of the day — or come one day earlier. In that case, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in the morning.
We’ll start with lunch at a seaside restaurant on Lungomare di Salute. This street in Fiumicino is famous for its seafood restaurants loved by locals. There are no tourists, the staff doesn’t speak English, and the prices are pleasantly moderate — a true Roman experience.
After lunch, we’ll head to Tuscany and check into our base — and this place deserves a special mention. It’s Poggio Covili, a historic estate and one of the most iconic and beautiful locations in Tuscany. In the evening, we’ll photograph it at sunset so you can enjoy a relaxed first shooting session after the trip.
We’ll start with lunch at a seaside restaurant on Lungomare di Salute. This street in Fiumicino is famous for its seafood restaurants loved by locals. There are no tourists, the staff doesn’t speak English, and the prices are pleasantly moderate — a true Roman experience.
After lunch, we’ll head to Tuscany and check into our base — and this place deserves a special mention. In the evening, we’ll photograph it at sunset so you can enjoy a relaxed first shooting session after the trip.
At sunrise we will go to the most beautiful place in Tuscany, the quintessence of the best views of Val d’Orcia — the panoramic viewpoint of the town of Pienza. With good light conditions, and especially if we are lucky with fog, you can return from here with a dozen unique and magnificent shots.
You will need lenses up to 400 mm. After the shoot, we will have a cappuccino with a dolce in a café on the central square, and then you will have time to take a leisurely walk through the streets of the town, lovingly designed and built by Pope Pius II on the site of his native village. Pienza is also the homeland of the most delicious sheep cheese in the world — pecorino.
Then we will return to our house to rest, and in the evening we will go to shoot one of the iconic views of the small chapel of Madonna di Vitaleta. A pleasant 10-minute walk awaits us directly to the chapel. Afterwards — a wonderful dinner and relaxation.

We will meet the sunrise at perhaps the most photographed location in all of Tuscany — Podere Belvedere. This truly iconic spot looks equally stunning at both sunrise and sunset. After the morning shoot, we’ll enjoy a coffee in the medieval town of San Quirico d’Orcia. Then we’ll return to our villa for a midday rest, and in the evening we’ll head out to capture the most famous little chapel in the Tuscan fields — Madonna di Vitaleta. If we’re efficient, we’ll have the chance to photograph it from different angles, using both wide-angle and telephoto lenses. We’ll end the day with dinner at one of our favourite restaurants — Fonte Alla Vena.
This cozy trattoria has a true country soul: wooden beams, simple tablecloths, bottles of homemade olive oil and wine. It’s a place for honest food: local vegetables, pasta, pici with rich sauces, and Cinta Senese pork prepared using the family recipes that Luciano, the owner, is always happy to share with us.

On this day we’ll wake up earlier than ever — it’s our longest morning drive, about 1.5 hours. We will meet the rising sun overlooking the "Medieval Manhattan" — the town of San Gimignano, famous for its 13 towering stone skyscrapers built by noble families centuries ago.
After the sunrise shoot, we’ll enjoy a morning coffee at Marcella’s chocolaterie, known for her incredibly delicious dolci. Then we’ll take a slow walk through the charming streets of this remarkable town, visit the Duomo — one of its frescoes was painted by Ghirlandaio himself — and climb the tallest tower, Torre Municipale, for magnificent views.
Next, we’ll head to Siena, the most beautiful of Tuscany’s larger cities, for lunch. We’ll dine at the historic and renowned Taverna San Giuseppe, home to what many consider the world’s best tagliolini with truffles. Afterwards, we’ll explore the intricate maze of Siena’s medieval streets and visit the most stunning Gothic cathedral in Italy — the Siena Duomo. Wagner himself reportedly wept upon seeing its ornate and masterful façade for the first time.
We will climb to a panoramic terrace to photograph the city from above. And, of course, we’ll lie back and relax for a moment on the legendary Piazza del Campo, where Tuscany’s most famous event takes place — the Palio horse race between the city’s contrade.
We’ll return home and enjoy dinner at a cozy trattoria near our villa.

We will photograph the landscape from several more viewpoints, including the iconic shot from La Foce, and then head for a morning coffee in the small, completely non-touristic town of Cetona, with its immaculate white stone streets. After a gentle morning walk, we’ll try to visit the gallery of well-known Tuscan artists Tazio Angellini and Fausta Ottolini, who have represented Italy at numerous contemporary art exhibitions, including in New York.
Their gallery and private apartments are located in an ancient 10th-century cantina. We’ll enjoy a glass of chilled prosecco with Fausta — but the visit fully depends on how she’s feeling, as she is well over 80.
Afterwards, we’ll have lunch together at the best restaurant in town.
For sunset, we’ll photograph the now-familiar Podere Belvedere once again.

After our morning shoot and a walk through this charming town, we’ll enjoy a tasting of the best Brunellos at the winemakers' association inside the legendary medieval fortress La Fortezza.
Following a midday rest, we’ll visit the ancient Abbey of Sant’Antimo, founded by Charlemagne himself. We will step inside the main church, dating back to the 8th century, and if we are fortunate, we may hear the monks' morning chants echoing under the stone vaults.
In the afternoon, we’ll continue our wine journey with tastings at one or several small local Brunello producers — delicious, educational, and wonderfully atmospheric. This entire day is dedicated to Tuscan wine. We’ll finish with a sunset shoot in the fields near Torrenieri.

Once again, we will leave a bit earlier than usual. We invite you to greet the new day in the charming ancient town of Pitigliano. Perched harmoniously on a massive tuff cliff, it looks so naturally integrated into the landscape that it feels born of nature rather than built by people.
After the sunrise shoot, we’ll enjoy a traditional slow morning walk. This town is full of wonderful opportunities for street photography. We will visit the old Duomo and explore the catacombs—there are so many of them that they form an entire underground city beneath Pitigliano. Almost every house has its own cellar carved into the rock.
Our friends, who make the most delicious salsa to pair with cheese, will gladly show us their underground chambers, dug out long ago by the Etruscans — the ancient inhabitants of Tuscany. Closer to noon, we’ll head to the famous Saturnia hot springs, where warm, naturally terraced white pools will let us relax and recharge for the rest of the tour.
We’ll spend sunset photographing another medieval marvel of Tuscany — the town of Sorano. It resembles Pitigliano in some ways, yet has a very different character: more rugged, dramatic, and perched over a true abyss.
Dinner will be close to home, at one of Pienza’s best restaurants — Sette di Vino. This intimate osteria sits right in the heart of the city. Every dish here is thoughtful yet simple. A small number of tables creates a cozy atmosphere, while the interior blends historic walls with delicate details. Locals love this place for its precise flavors and honest, cheese-driven cuisine.

Then, on our way back home, we’ll drive along one of the most beautiful roads in Tuscany — Crete Senesi. We’ll stop often to capture the rolling hills, soft curves and dramatic light of this unique region.
We’ll spend the siesta time at home to rest a bit longer after the rich and busy previous day. At sunset, we’ll photograph the iconic Podere Baccoleno with its winding cypress-lined road — one of the most famous and elegant views in all of Tuscany.

We’ll welcome sunrise in the small village of Bagno Vignoni — home to the oldest known thermal springs in the region. This is the director Tarkovsky’s favorite Tuscan village; he filmed the closing scene of his "Nostalghia" here.
With a view of the main thermal pool, we’ll enjoy our traditional morning cappuccino and then visit two charming, non-touristic towns:
• Sarteano, where we will taste freshly pressed olive oil at a small family farm;
• Radicofani, where the local church houses an original Andrea della Robbia majolica.
Later we’ll soak in the beautiful natural hot springs at Bagni San Filippo. And if we still have energy for an evening session, we’ll head to the extraordinary roofless monastery San Galgano. We’ll photograph it under the first evening lights and see the legendary sword embedded in the stone — the prototype of Excalibur. In the evening we’ll enjoy our farewell dinner at one of the best restaurants in the region.

Your return flight should be scheduled for the second half of the day. Those who wish to spend additional time exploring Rome will be taken directly to the city.
